when和while的區(qū)別
when可用作并列連詞，表示“這時(shí)(突然)”;while也可以用作并列連詞，表示“而”“卻”(表示對(duì)比);但as則沒(méi)有類似用法。以下是小編精心編輯的when和while的區(qū)別，希望能幫助到大家。
when有鑒于之意，如：

when 有雖然、盡管等讓步之間，如：
They kept digging when they must know there was no hope to escape.
while 有對(duì)比之意，譯為“而”。如：
That region has plenty of natural resouces, while this one has none.
while 有表示“部分同意”之意，如：
While she is likable girl, she is difficult to work with.
when和while 都有“在...時(shí)候”的意思。
主從句都是長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的動(dòng)作時(shí)，只用while;
While she read the paper, I cleared up the kitchen.

when和while的區(qū)別
(1)when即at the time that…，指「在……之時(shí)」，例如：
When I finished my letter, I posted it.
我寫完信便寄出。
(2)while即at the same time that…，亦指「在……之時(shí)」，但其所表示的「同時(shí)」須有「持續(xù)性」，例如：
We must strike while the iron is hot.
我們必須趁熱打鐵。
(3)while不可用來(lái)表示「時(shí)間點(diǎn)」(a point of time)，例如：
錯(cuò)：While I finished my letter, I posted it.
因?yàn)閯?dòng)作具有「瞬間性」。
(4)while可用于對(duì)比(contrast)，when則不可，例如：
Mary is in blue while Cindy is in black.
瑪麗穿藍(lán)色衫，而仙蒂穿黑色衫。
(5)while又可表示「只要」(as long as)，例如：
While there is life, there is hope.
留得青山在，不怕沒(méi)柴燒。
(6)再可表示「盡管」(although)，例如：
While I admit that the task is difficult, I dont think that it is impossible.
